last week of my prcp posting.

life's good. im passing out from my diploma in another week.

Of course, i'll miss the staffs there and I am utmost thankful for

their patience and guidance towards teaching me.

I still have no idea where I wanna go after getting my diploma,

but I guess, I'll just gain a year of ward experience first, or

maybe I should just go to OT.

Im interested in working in the operating theaters.

Just that, I dont really wanna be screamed at some nasty surgeons

or nurses or anesthetists.

And Im afraid of not being able to handle the number of equipments I am

supposed to remember.

Oh well, okay, will take it one step at a time.

I know I should have an aim, but I am not extremely sure of the decisions that

I am able to make and whats the pay difference etc.

It hits me kinda hard when to think about it,

I'm about to embark into the world of adulthood.

No more pocket money, no more parent's approval and everything else.

It's a leap.

A big leap in my life.

I just hope everything goes well,

Im going thru extreme good hair day today.

So after my night shift, I took a bus home, from interchange okay.

I dont even bear to wash my hair.

HAHAHAHA.

NIGHT SHIFT

Yesterday was my second night shift in the ward.

This time me and Zaf took 6 patients each.

Encounter 1

At about 3:04am, we heard someone yelling.

We saw the cleaner at the back of the ward therefore we asked

her if she heard it, but she denied hearing it.

Zaf and I held hands and ran to the nurse's counter.

Encounter 2

Someone pressed on the bell outside our ward for entry.

When Zaf pressed it open, no one came in.

Therefore she went to check, and realised there was nobody outside.

Encounter 3

Baby crying, when my ward is a pure female, ortho surgical ward.

It was about 4:30am.

Freaked out max.

sad chapter of life

today, i answered the callbell that was ringing for a moment.

i answered it and to my surprise, the patient looked extremely familiar.

at a closer look, i knew she was a senior in my secondary school,

just a year senior.

she was a prefect, in a top class, everything a parent want from a child.

i got curious, so i went to look at her diagnosis.

too my horror, it was panadol overdose.

she was on suicidal precaution.

and what's worse, she was four month pregnant.

i wont disclose her identity, no doubt,

just that it really shocked me.

imagine how her parents reacted.

but then, there mustve been a pretty tough decision there to be made.

anyone wouldve been caught in a dilemma.

to keep, or not to,

a fatal decision.

my moral of the story, always use protection.

1 odd dollar can save you from making such a vital decision.

her decision was pristine,

i really admire her determination and sense of responsibility.

hi.

watched too many youtube tuts today.

decided to modify one of them.

so went out with it since it was done,

pretty nicely.

i never thought there would be a difference when using

normal nail polishes from the face shop/etude house

compared to the more expensive, OPI/Orly etc.

The first OPI i got interested to buy was from the Katy Perry series,

the famous black shatter.

the awesome effect that is brought out is indescribable.
the feeling of applying on OPI is really different as compared to the normal nail polishes.

OPI has the wide brush effect for easy and smooth application.

this matters alot to me as im a really careless and clumsy person.

Applying nail polishes DIY = clumps and lumps and unevenly coloured nails.

But after getting the OPI ones,

my nails look good and constantly gains compliments.

(even when im at work! ^^)
i got my OPI nail polishes from Shanny as she happens to know the supplier.

so you don't have to wait and wait to get your nail polishes.

anyway, she doesn't really earn much for doing these,

just that she consistently have to buy it for me or her classmates or friends.

therefore, it's 'along-the-way'!

Today is a fantastic day.

Apart from the fact that I wrote four reports for the

last day in the geron ward, and i was LATE.

i have seriously no time management when it comes to this.

Not the first time.
But today was exceptionally late.

Very happy to see grannys getting out of the hospital.

But at the same time, after seeing what kind of people there are.
i'll just say it's a shame, to just watch the people you really love,

not bothering to fight for you rights to live, after giving birth to them,

raising them up.

Really, i almost cried thinking how helpless this old lady is.

Okay, confidentiality, I shutup.

Parttime job interview tomorrow with Weiling.

Quite excited.

On diet pills;

last week of gerontology posting.
that place isn't that bad eh. built alot of rapport with
the elderly people. their veryveryvery cute.
most of then suffers from dementia thou.
by the end of this week, i would be having a one month break.

but idk srsly what I'll be doing
so therefore most probably I'll be my mom's office helpin out.

diet has been great! drastic dropped about 1 and a half in threedays.
it's gonna be one month of hardship.
I'll pull it thru with constant reminder of self-control and determination.

just dropped by to do a little update.
and this dieting causes my immunity to be low,
thus easily overwhelmed by small sickness, eg flu.
so ive just double dosed my chlophaniramine and im off to bed.
my eyes feel soooo dry!

SIMULATOR SICKNESS ;

Known as a first person shooter (FPS) game, and the cameras move fast enough to shake your head, that feeling is dizziness. If that feeling persists, it would cause a sick feeling in your stomach, and increased blood pressure.

Symptoms of Simulator Sickness ;

Eye/Nerve twitching
Vision Displacement
Muscleache/contraction
Dizziness
An urge for vomitting

Reasons for Simulator Sickness ;

Whenever you play a game, the info you absorb with your eyes is readily processed by your brains, and if your brain evaluates the info wrongly, it sends a message that the info is wrong or 'not the way it wants it to be'.

Causes ;

Jittery frame or lag
Insanely fast camera movement
Too much info to 'digest' in your brain
(Amount of info too many for the brain to handle. Which means the brain is not catching up to the pace as ran from the computer screen as compared to the eyes, thus causing sickness)

SOLUTIONS ;

1. Playing right. Environment plays a part. Well lit room, so that it doesnt put pressure to your eyes.

2. Stop playing immediately if the problem persists.
(Seriously, the world would not end if you just stop.)

3. Sleep

4. Rest your eyes

MY CONCLUSION ;

Dont play in a dark environment with fake eyelash on your face and wearing your contact lenses out thou you've already worn it the whole damn day, period.

P.S : Im going to play Dark Carnival again to see if it's really that bad
